Amy, yup. Even with the kids in school full-time, I only get a few hours of unalloyed silence. At least I'm getting stuff done.

Sheila, thanks for dropping in, and for the encouragement.

I should add that I first heard of Sheila Williams when she did a short interview with Doug Hall years ago. As I recall, I was so taken with her own story, of leaving the corporate ladder (and burning it behind her) to become a full-time novelist, that I just had to try one of her books. Her website is at SheilaJWilliams.com, and there's some other neat stuff there, too.

I'm waiting patiently for school to start. Too many deadlines looming.

I only have one in school and it's only for 1/2 a day. Looking forward to next year when she's in school full time, and two years when the youngest will be in school. Unfortunately, my deadline doesn't grant me four years till both kids are in school full time. LOL!

Thanks, Leah.

Yeah, I keep saying, someday the girls will grow up and move out, and then we can have nice things again. But it's mostly in jest. The truth is that when they grow up and move out, I'll miss them. And the younger one will probably still insist that I call her "my little one."

Wow, I can't believe how this meme is gaining strength. I'm right there with you waiting for Labour Day - except my eldest isn't in school anymore. *sigh* Now I'm working on the 'married and moved out' part to happen.

I love the title of your memoir, by the way.
