I’m just now recovering from my Christmas gluttony, as well as the work that’s backed up. But I wanted to post this quick announcement of who won the book giveaways this month on this blog.
I emailed the winners over a week ago, when the giveaways ended. And most of them received their prizes last week, as well as a little something extra: I’ve included a copy of one of my books in each package, in the hopes that it will be read and enjoyed and that it will make a positive difference in someone’s life.
And so…
The winner of the autographed copy of Julie Carobini’s debut beach-lit novel, Chocolate Beach… out of 35 entries… Drumroll please! [opens envelope]
Entry #14, Lisa “The Self Altered”.
According to her blog, Lisa loves threadless t-shirts, jeans, UGG flip flops, and a great green juice. She’s also a Kangen Water diehard and raw-food health nut, who is transforming into a successful entrepreneur. A laid-back mom, she pursues open-minded, eclectic tastes. Lisa is a writer and creative spirit, who loves to learn new things and constantly grow.
Lisa, I hope you enjoy this beachy read from Julie Carobini, full of t-shirts, jeans, and flip flops.
For Jen Knox’s memoir Musical Chairs, there were two winners, because Jen’s giving away two copies. Out of only 4 entries, the winners were…
Entries #2 and 3, Esther Blair-Tull and Nancye Davis.
Congratulations, Esther and Nancye! I personally couldn’t put this book down once I started reading it–zipped through it in a little over a day of near-constant reading–and I hope you enjoy Jen’s story as much as I did.
Next, a copy of Jess C Scott’s alternative YA novel EyeLeash: A Blog Novel, plus an autographed, custom-designed postcard by Jess herself. There were 11 entries, including some last-minute ones. Out of 11 entries total, the winner is…
Entry #11, Rahchelle, who entered with “Hope it’s not too late!”
Rahchelle, I hope you get into the raw realism in this novel as much as I did. And be sure to share with your roommates. 😉
This next book is special to me, an original hardcover of Talyn, by Holly Lisle. This is one of my favorite stories of all time, and a title that I hope will ultimately be recorded in the annals of great (if under-appreciated) fiction. Out of 12 entries, the winner…
Entry #12, Cathie, the only person who entered each and every giveaway for the whole month.
Congratulations, Cathie! I truly hope you enjoy this deep, complex story, and if you aren’t already a fan of Holly Lisle, I hope this story turns you into one.
Next, I gave away a copy of Hawkspar, the sequel to Talyn, which I’m still reading, in between busy streaks, and which is turning out to be a wonderful story in its own right. There were only 5 entries for this 1.6″ thick, 1.6 lb hardcover. And the winner is…
Entry #2, James R, proving that good books are not just for women.
Enjoy the novel, James!
Alright. Next up–and I promise I’m nearing the end here–the sequel to the Julie Carobini “Chocolate” book above, an autographed copy of Truffles by the Sea. There were 13 entries for this giveaway, and the winner is…
Entry #11, Cathie… Again?
Hold on. I need to confer with the judges.*
[muffled whispers]
The judges have verified the authenticity of the selection, by Random.org, a true random-noise number generator. The official word is that Cathie legitimately entered and won, not just one, but two giveaways. Proving again that the most important element in winning a giveaway is entering it.
Congratulations again, Cathie!
* No real judges were harmed (or consulted) in the making of this fictional awards ceremony.
In the Eye of the Beholder, by Sharon Cathcart, costars Erik, the Phantom of the Opera, with a new leading lady. I never realized before just how many people are fans of Gaston Leroux’s The Phantom of the Opera, until I ran a Facebook ad promoting this giveaway. I ran ads elsewhere and for the other giveaways, too, but Facebook is where people list what they “Like.” And the ad that was shown to Phantom fans, it was displayed to more than a quarter-million people in the short time it was active, and it had one of the highest click-through rates of any of the ads I ran.
Ultimately, for this giveaway, 14 people entered. And the winner is…
Entry #2, Brigitte Guy.
Congratulations, Brigitte! If you’re not already a fan of Sharon Cathcart, I hope this wonderful book makes you a fan.

Lastly, we have a box of previously read books, all titles that I have enjoyed in the past. There were 8 people who entered the giveaway. And the winner is…
Entry #4, Sheila K.
Congrats, Sheila! Enjoy your prize. As you said to me–and I don’t think I’m revealing any secrets here–“There’s nothing better than books!”
So that’s it. This season’s Big Book Giveaway. Giving books away is a lot of work. I think I’m going to go take a nap now.
Hope you had a Merry Christmas, and have a Happy New Year!
-TimK
Thanks again for your generosity, Tim!
That’s so kind of you to say, Sheila. You’re very welcome.
God Bless,
-TimK
Thank you so very much!
